About TallyUp
Free tools for real math, built by people who got tired of calculators that demand your email before they'll do arithmetic.
What this site is
TallyUp is a collection of free, single-purpose calculators. Each one does one job — set a freelance rate, estimate self-employment tax, compare debt payoff strategies, scale a recipe — and does it well. You type in your numbers, you get an answer. That's the entire product.
Why it exists
Too many calculator sites treat the tool as bait: a stripped-down widget surrounded by popups, email gates, and a sales pitch for something else. We think a calculator should be the main event. So every TallyUp page pairs a fully working tool with a plain-English explanation of the math behind it — the formula, a worked example with real numbers, and honest notes about what the result does and doesn't tell you.
How we make money
TallyUp is free to use and we plan to keep it that way. The site is supported by advertising and, on some finance tools, affiliate links to products we think genuinely help (tax software, invoicing tools, and similar). Ads and affiliate links are clearly labeled and never influence the math — a calculator that changes its answer for money would be worthless to everyone, including us.
Privacy by design
Every calculation on TallyUp happens in your browser, on your own device. We don't ask for your name or email, there are no accounts, and the numbers you type into a calculator are never sent to us. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
The fine print on financial tools
Our finance calculators are planning tools, not professional advice. They use public formulas and published rates to give you estimates — useful for budgeting and decision-making, but not a substitute for a qualified financial advisor or tax professional. Wherever a tool touches money, you'll find a methodology note explaining exactly how the number was computed.
